Meet the Ocean Karen, a humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa with a signature haircut, designer shades, and zero patience for visitors. She would like to speak to whoever manages this reef. It’s her.
Here’s the part that makes it funnier. The real humuhumu earned this reputation fair and square. Hawaii’s state fish guards its patch of reef with the confidence of a fish three times its size, grunts at intruders like a small pig, and will straight up chase snorkelers who drift too close. The wig is ours. The attitude is all hers.
The design prints in a vintage distressed style with retro waves, palm silhouettes, hibiscus corners, a “NOT TODAY, TOURIST.” banner, and the full twelve-syllable name across the bottom for anyone brave enough to read it out loud.
